Ceremony for Citizenship and Olive Update
At one minute after midnight on Sunday, July 6, Frances became, officially, a Citizen of Italy! We were wowed by the ceremony the evening before and were additionally wowed by the festa on Sunday night for 100 at Il Falconiere. See more on Frances’s Substack post: francesmayes.substack.com.
Olive Update: We’ve had several weeks of no rain mixed with temperatures in the mid-90’s. Not at all the ideal weather for young olives. Giancarlo and I figure we’ll have half the harvest we had in 2024—same quality, but lower quantity. Luckily, since the day of the ceremony, we’ve had several great thunderstorms, and the temperature has dropped to the 70s and 80s. The seesaw that all farmers know. Look to the sky: will it be kind to the land today?
